Greater Manchester Police Federation recognised for its service to members

Greater Manchester Police Federation has been recognised with a prestigious award for high performance in delivering a great level of service to its members. The local branch board was awarded the Investors in People Gold award for going above and beyond in the way it supports, respects and encourages its team representatives and members.
The report highlighted the branch board’s success in learning and development, people management, communication and their values and principles.

The report also showed how strong, compassionate and supportive leadership within GMP Federation was greatly demonstrated during the shocking and tragic events surrounding the deaths of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes.

“In addition to embracing the values of Greater Manchester Police, interviewees described how the Federation’s guiding principles were founded on empathy, listening, honesty, fairness and confidentiality,” the report said.

“It was evident from feedback that people throughout the Federation ‘live and breathe’ these principles on a daily basis.”

Ian Hanson, chair of Greater Manchester Police Federation, said: “We are very proud to have attained this award as it shows our dedication and commitment in delivering an exceptional service to our members.
“This indicates the great work the Federation does on a day-to-day basis and we are honoured to have been recognised at such a high level as an Investor in People.”
